BEFORE YOU APPThere are a few things to note before submitting your application:

Applications open midnight, US Central Time.
We open apps bi-monthly on every odd month (ie, September, November, January, etc.). This could change, but keep this in mind when debating whether to app or not!
The application period is 3 days. We will process all apps at the end of the cycle. If we ever reach the cap, we will close the app period early.
All applications should be posted in the character journal applying to the game and linked to when submitting to this entry.
There is a 70 total player cap with a 15 new player app cap. Applications are limited to only those who have made Reservations and are submitting app challenges. We will not accept any other apps outside of these.
There is a 10 characters per cast cap. If we receive more than we have open, we will accept the ones that best fit and came first. Players are limited to one character in a specific cast.
Players have a limit of playing 3 characters at a time, and there is an app limit of 2 characters per player with 1 character per canon.
For CRAU characters, they are limited to carry over specific history of one game. If you wish to CRAU a character that's been through several game iterations, only the most recent one will be dominant. All other previous experiences will still be considered as part of their development, but specifics especially regarding a game's setting or people will be vague.
Please read up on the Game Info and the Rules stipulated on there.
Make sure to check the Character Roster and the Reservations to ensure the character you wish to apply for is not already listed. A reservation is required to apply. Note: we do allow application challenges, so while a reservation is a guaranteed slot and will have priority in a close contest, it is not a guaranteed acceptance into the game.
Participate in the current Test Drive as it is required for a sample. Be sure to use the same journal you are applying with to ensure everything matches. Toplevels aren't required so you may use other threads you respond to, but they should ideally be around AC length (5 comments). Multiple threads are allowed.
Those who receive Revisions will have five days to submit the requested revisions before we consider it as a revocation of the application.

Background Information: Just some basic background information about the character and what they've been through in their canon. We don't need a full biography, just a few paragraphs or even a bullet list highlighting key points will do. Wiki links are also acceptable. If this is a CRAU you will need to provide some brief information on what developments will be carrying over. We don't need a full history, just enough for us to get a feel of what kind of experiences they would have gone through that would affect changes in the character outside of their canon.

Personality: The core of all applications, but we don't need a psychoanalysis of the character. You can just leave those in the character journals. An outline highlighting important aspects of their personality, major points of development, and any particular outer influences like other character relationships or events will be enough. For those who do like to make lengthy write ups ~~head mod is guilty it's okay~~, there's a limit of 1200 words.

Abilities & Inventory: Describe or list whatever canon abilities and items that will be brought with the character, and be sure to mention any nerfs that will need to be made or else we'll make the decision while processing the application. Linking to wikis is fine, just be sure to point out any particular abilities that need to be nerfed. You can mention what kind of abilities and skills you're thinking of your character developing via dreamotion, but it's not required. Reminder that the only the items that will be brought along with the character will be anything that is their personal belonging and is either on their person or near them at the time they enter Songerein.

Suitability & Plans: Why do you want to play this particular character in Songerein? Even if it's just a character you really want to play, it's still good to have an idea of what you'd like to do with them to make engagement easier. Some things to think about are what might be some goals you have for the character or if there is something about them you want to explore, such as exploring new CR or letting them explore opportunities they didn't have in canon.

Most important to consider is how will the character fit in? Not every character will adapt well to the game's environment, so consider carefully. You may also want to consider how much reliance your character needs with castmates or other kinds of characters. The more independent and flexible both you and the character are, the easier it will be in generating CR and participating in the various shenanigans that will occur. You should also consider that while we have events, we expect players to be able to create their own fun with each other and without heavy mod influence.

Unfortunately we've determined that your application had too many errors or did not meet up to our standards to allow a revision. These are the concerns with your application and why we are declining it:

After reading through the application and how you portray Kairi in your threads, we have decided to decline your application. The key issue is how much CRAU you've incorporated into everything. Kairi's developments in The Far Shore are expected to change the character from canon to some degree, but a lot of the original Kairi seems to have been lost to whatever development arc you had going before. You repeatedly reference the game and include carry overs that we've already told you are not allowed. While the experience from The Far Shore may have had an impact on your character's past, you continue to play her as if she's still in that game and instead of taking how it would be in Songerein. We considered whether it's possible for a revision, but with how deeply ingrained and determined you seem to include The Far Shore's lore and mechanics with little resemblance of the original canon, we have ultimately decided the application would need more of a rework than a revision would allow.

You are free to reapply for this character or any other character in the next cycle.

I apologize for how that came across in my threads. I was trying to write as if she thought she still had her powers, despite knowing your answer that they would not work, because I was trying to play out her learning that.

I know this doesn’t change your decision. I just wanted to apologize for seeming to disregard what you told me.
