Is it possible for a CRAU character to come into Songerein after returning home and forgetting the previous game experience and going through more of their canon, and then remembering "oh hey I've done this before" once they arrive? Basically just slapping a canon update between the two games.
I have some questions regarding the dream selves!
1. They're referenced as being an independent fragment of the subconscious, but neither side is aware of the other. Are the dream selves aware that they're some dream entity?
2. Since dying sends them back to their physical body, does that mean every time that happens they'll become aware of time having passed since their bodies continue to operate in wakefulness independently?
3. It's a little unclear but is the place they're based on actually a dream, and then dreamwalking is a dream-within-a-dream? Or is it more like a tangible place and then all the dreamwalking is more like directly connecting to each other's conscious space?

Sorry if this was asked somewhere and I'm just blind, but regarding CRAU characters and items: If the character had pets/familiars in their game, can they carry over? For example, as the Beast Jean had wolf cub familiars he would like to bring with him.
Is there a section in the journal for people to write private notes in? Some people like Luca happen to have a habit of keeping diaries and such.
Hiya! I have a question regarding rather particular abilities/items! In the canon The World Ends With You, the characters are in a different plane of existence meant for the dead, that's separate from the "Realground", the normal realm of the living and where we are. Their abilities come from pins they use there, but the pins are specifically only used there and not in the Realground.
Would they be able to use these powers in the game, or would they be useless here?

I do, indeed, have a question especially since Vani is a pretty "special boy." How exactly would this negative energy work for him since he is, in essence, born from negative energy and darkness? In KH3 he literally restores himself by feeding off of fear in particular but he could do it with any negative emotion.
Just curious about the ways that I could continue to play around with it!

Greetings! I am interested in apping a CRAU character where their previous game was taken off of Noragami, specifically talking about Shinki and their memory loss aspects about "Blight" (negative energy, sort of, except it has a physical component which is also contagious).
In canon, if a Shinki remembers too many aspects of their old life - in particular how they died - they risk gaining Blight. Likewise, if they misbehave, they risk gaining Blight then too. The ultimate reason for all of this is that, functionally, Shinki are Dead and thus Spirits.
1. Would Kairi still be considered Dead/Spirit for the purposes of this game and the FAQ?
2. If OG canonmates (in this case, from Kingdom Hearts) were to start talking to her about her past, would she still incur the same Blight like she would in the CRAU/Noragami canon? Or, since this is a dream world, might it not happen at all?
3. A subset of a Shinki's abilities are tied to their function as a weapon for their God (think Soul Eater). Would she be able to attain a new "god" at any point, even if they aren't of divine origin canonically? Or would it work only if the character is of a divine nature canonically? (She knows the incantation and could teach it to someone.)

Okay so I only started figuring out dreamwalking forms for both of my two characters on the TDM, but only after I had them dreamwalk in normal forms on there.
If either of them, or both, get into the game, would I be not allowed to change that in the game itself? Considering that the TDM acts like an intro log?

A couple of questions because Nuadha here is kind of a weird and special snowflake...
At his current canon point, he is essentially a dead soul shoved into someone else's corpse as a vessel of sorts. Would he be subject to the dead soul rules, or would he function like any other character because he does in fact have a corporeal form despite being dead, even if it isn't technically his own body?
Also, we know from canon that his body doesn't require food or sleep, and that physical pain is dulled. Would those qualities remain here as well? (He's able to eat and sleep, he just... doesn't actually NEED to.)
EDIT: I realized I have another question about his abilities and how they would work here, haha. As a mirrist, Nuadha is capable of something called 'exoflection,' which is basically magicking up something out of thin air. (It has to be some sort of object he can picture in his mind-- for instance, he couldn't exoflect a car because he wouldn't know what that is, but if he saw a picture of one, he could exoflect something that would look like a car on the outside but might not actually work because he has no idea how a car functions, either.) I presume there would need to be limits on that, such as size, power level of the exoflected items, etc.?

quick Q that i don't see anywhere: do you allow proxy reserves?
(e.g. putting a reserve up on the behalf of a non-USA individual who is possibly in the middle of their sleep hours at midnight central time)

I have two quick questions about the application. Because Mirai is an original character, I started a character information post on her journal long before joining any games with her because I felt that all of the details about her should be written down somewhere. Because it covers a lot of the application (as I've learned from her past game as well), I was wondering if I could just put the link for the post or if you would prefer me to copy-paste the parts into the application where they belong?
I don't mind doing it that way, of course, I just wanted to get a clear answer before turning the application in when they open. I have also read through the entire post and double-checked that everything was updated.
The other question that I have is regarding a condition that Mirai has naturally due to her genetics and world. Mirai is slowly dying due to her magic (which can be read in more detail here in abilities & skills.) Even though this is a core part of her development, I don't feel like it fits this setting quite like it did in Deerington. Is it possible to have that not taken effect if she gets accepted here? Regarding some of her magic, I do intend on nerfing her a little yet, but I can list that in the application.

Last minute questions because I am somewhat nervous.
A. As you might know, Luca is a CRAU. He was given a journal (the network journal Luca also used to store all his notes in) and a sword (came with the essence) upon arrival. Can I bring those into Songerein?
B. If the sword gets carried over, can it still be summonable as it was before? There are no other powers than hammerspace.
C. If I did make some mistake in understanding these rules and not notice until after I wrote certain tags on the TDM, can those mistakes be retcon'd?

Hello mods, when we were in-depth brainstorming cultivation via dreamotion for our Untameds, I realized that I'm actually not sure I understood right what you said in the acceptance.
We wanted to note that if you wish to carry over Jiang Cheng's cultivation, it will be tied to dreamotion energy instead of spiritual energy. Otherwise it would be fundamentally the same.
Does this only refer to replicating his cultivation in dreams, or also how cultivation works in the Song waking world in general? If it's the latter: does he have access to dreamotion-based cultivation on his own level from the start (just the power source is different) or will he first need to master harnessing dreamotion energy before he can use it to fuel his powers (as in, just like other dreamotion-based abilities need to be learned)? My first thought had been this basically nerfs him until he has figured out how to dreamotion but I'm not sure anymore.
We also talked about Wei Wuxian's demonic cultivation, which is based on their world's equivalent of nightmare energy. Would he still be cultivating nightmare energy here? Or would he be cultivating via regular dreamotion too?
If the latter - Are there any adverse effects/things to know about using dreamotion energy for what amounts to 'nightmare energy' flavored abilities? We see the part about 'naturally evil characters' on the noctaere page, but this is a case of a not-necessarily-evil character who happens to have evil-coded magic, so it seemed like a good idea to clarify.

Just to check - is it possible to "private message" (a.k.a. have a one-to-one text conversation) with the dream journals? I was thinking of making an IC inbox and then realised I wasn't entirely sure of how much someone could limit who they want to send their journal texts to.
compiled questions re: dreamotion abilities, dreamwalking, passive dreams, & nightmares

Hey mods! A few of us are having trouble really wrapping our heads around a lot of the dream-based aspects of the game (dreamotion, dreamwalking, dreamselves, etc.), specifically because the infopages give a lot of conceptual/vibe info but no actual concrete framework to work within.
We totally understand why you've left it open-ended like this - Song is dream-based, dreams are wild and freeform and anything can happen! But without any functional framework for how the game's magic mechanics work, it's hard to be confident writing within the setting and utilizing these features.
These are a few of the main questions we have; apologies for the length and absolutely no rush in responding of course:
The description about a character's dreamwalking form reads, "This could be of their own design or random (i.e., the player's)." How does presenting as a dreamwalking form which doesn't match their normal form work? If it's of their own design, how do they go about creating it? (Same basic questions as a couple of times above: Is it a 'think about it and poof, it happens' deal? A 'focus on it intensely as you fall asleep' deal?) If it's of the player's design but not the character's, what guidelines does it follow? (Does it have to be representative of them in some way, is it influenced by the dream itself, etc? Or is dreamotion magic literally just fully arbitrary in that sense?)
How exactly is dreamotion energy replenished? It specifies that it's either "done naturally" or by "having dreams" — can it be assumed that "done naturally" is simply passively existing in Song? As for dreaming to regain energy, do involuntary dreams (like the passive dreams viewed via lantern) also replenish dreamotion energy? And would it be possible to clarify how dreamwalking consumes a lot of dreamotion energy, but dreaming is how one replenishes dreamotion energy? Is it that you have to be the 'host' of the dream to regain energy, but you lose it within others' dreams?
Do nightmares follow all of the above rules as well? For instance, is there any capability a character (either the dreamer or those who dreamwalk into the nightmare) has to control/influence a nightmare like they would in a regular dream, or no? Any obvious differences between nightmares and dreams in terms of mechanics would be great to know!
For passive dreams, when a character is using telepathy to comment on the dream recording, is the dreamer still sleeping and responding from within the dream state? How long does the telepathy last — until the character wakes up, if they are sleeping? Is a passive dream kept for any certain amount of time; like if someone sees it could it possibly be revisited?
Apologies if any of this has been misinterpreted or officially answered elsewhere. The game is super lovely and welcoming, and we just want to be able to write and tag with a clearer picture of the mechanics in mind!

These are a few of the main questions we have; apologies for the length and absolutely no rush in responding of course:
- A lot of the mechanics of the game's magic system are described as 'characters do this', with no actual indication of how it's done or what the experience is like - do these abilities require focus and willpower to execute, or are they more passive (like 'you think about it and then it happens' passive)? Is it a mixture of the two? And I again understand the open-endedness of the magic explanation serving the purpose of player creativity, but regarding "abilities similar to magic skills, conjuring, creating weapons, all of this is possible" - we're left kind of wondering, what exactly are considered 'magic skills'? What can be conjured? It's said that players are "expected to be reasonable with it," but what does 'reasonable' mean in this situation if it doesn't only mean 'not game-breaking'? If at all possible, any more clarification on the actual experience/act of using dreamotion magic + the framework/criteria we should be using for what can be done via dreamotion magic would be extremely helpful!
- When characters enter a dream, are they capable of utilizing canon abilities, dreamotion magic, or potentially both? Maybe neither? There are two separate quotes about canon abilities being used in dreamwalking spaces: both "They will have access to their dreamwalking abilities, and as a reminder all canon abilities will not work within dreams." and "Canon abilities will not be as effective and sometimes rendered useless within dreams and thus more suitable for dealing with anything out in Songerein." The latter implies that canon abilities may not be as powerful in dreams, but there is a potential for them to still be usable -- what is the stipulation for them being only inefficient, not simply rendered useless?
- There also appears to be a discrepancy between "It is important to note that dreamotion abilities will be most effective in dreams. and "(...) it is possible for a character to learn to harness their emotions and create or enhance their abilities. This is only possible in Songerein and not in dreams." All prior text has given the impression that the the emotion-based abilities are a form of dreamotion, but this suggests differently? Is emotion-based magic 'dreamotion magic'?
- I know that personally The Untamed cast received acceptance notes about their cultivation abilities now being tied to dreamotion magic, which the Jiang Cheng player asked about above. I do have a few more general questions related to how this mechanic might work -- are all canon abilities now fueled by dreamotion, or only some? Would this qualify them as dreamotion abilities, or would they still fall under the category of 'canon abilities', meaning they would not be able to subdue noctaere? I notice that you said to Jiang Cheng's player that he has access to dream cultivation at full strength, and thus his 'canon abilities' are neither nerfed nor ineffective. Honestly just more clarification on the actual difference between dreamotion abilities, canon abilities fueled by dreamotion, and canon abilities not fueled by dreamotion (thus not accessible in dreamwalking? I think?) would be great.
- I don't believe that it states how characters actually go about creating dreams, in terms of game mechanic. The infopage suggests that it's a deliberate process - is that a process that also requires learning, like the dreamotion abilities? How does a character create a dream? (Like, do they just vividly picture it before bed and hope that it shows up? Do they decide before bed that they want to create a dream, then build it from the inside? etc.)
- Who has control of the dream, and how much? The infopage mentions "the rules set up by the player" and "Standard limitations apply in addition to any set by the other player" - is the player the only one able to set limitations/rules for the dream, or can the character?
- Additionally, are all interactive dreams (ICly) mandatorily open to anyone, or are the dreamers able to set conditions on who can enter? For instance, limiting access to exclusively people they already know, or to people who fit a specific demographic (like if a kid character only wants to let other kids into their dream), etc. If it is possible to limit access, how would that limitation be experienced? (They simply can't enter at all? They enter but are pitched back out by default? etc.)
- It states that interactive dreams are fluid, and are capable of being "influenced by anyone and anything that enters," but is this voluntary or involuntary on the part of the dreamwalking visitor? Is it potentially another case of initially being passive/emotion-fueled*, with the ability to gain more control as a character becomes more familiar with harnessing dreamotion energy? (* If no emotion-based dreamotion works within dreamwalking as mentioned above, does that mean all changes have to be deliberate?) And what if two or more characters within a dream have different passive or deliberate desires for a dream; what would that look like?
- Who has control of the dream, and how much? The infopage mentions "the rules set up by the player" and "Standard limitations apply in addition to any set by the other player" - is the player the only one able to set limitations/rules for the dream, or can the character?

Trying to write up a dream recording. Are they more like twitch streams (the dreamer is actively dreaming and observers are commenting on it) or youtube videos (The dreamer woke up and now a bunch of voices in their head are commenting on the dream they had)?
Okay, so, since it's coming up I have a couple of questions regarding one of Ryner's powers.
So, his alpha stigma is able to analyze and decipher objects. He's also able to use his eyes to look at people, though he obviously can't tell much. Like in canon, at one point, he uses his stigma to analyze Ferris's brother. A normal human would just appear as is, but because Lucile is something of a god and his body has a sort of ethereal nature, he actually doesn't appear at all. Were Ryner to use his eyes on these tapirs and other magical beings, would he see anything? If they're composed of magic he might pick up some sort of aura, unreadable, of course, or are they some higher being that wouldn't appear at all?
My other question is if Ryner were to attack one with his magic, how would that go? Would they fight back, not be damaged, reflect it, etc? Also, his alpha stigma is able to appropriate spells, is he able to steal their magic and cast it back?

Sorry if I just missed it, but when does AC go up and where would we submit? Is it a permanent thread or a monthly one?
I finished a preemptive app, though I am starting to second guess and wanna make sure I don't have to make changes later. (Sorry if something similar has been asked before!)
What happens if a character has an ability/item that lets them enter dreams manually? Would it have any sort of side effects that's different from just being pulled into dreams (or how ever the way the dreamwalking works naturally)? Would it have any weird effects on Songerein too since it too is technically a dream world? Since in this very specific case, it's more like cutting open a rift to get through.

Hello! I have a question about the journals. Since they can take any shape, is it possible for them to look like something that isn't a traditional journal? For example, a sci-fi datapad/tablet with only text functionality, maybe?

Hi, I'm interested in the game and wanted to ask if there's an age requirement on the characters? The one I have in mind is really young and I wanted to check if they would be appable or not.
