Character: Madhuri Qalli Canon: Final Fantasy XIV Current Canon Point: Patch 5.5 New Canon Point: End of Patch 6.0 Updated Background:(SPOILERS FOR ENDWALKER AHEAD! Highlight below for text. Keeping notes as brief as possible.)
-Passage into Sharlayan has been granted, so the head Scions head off into the city proper, posing as an attempt to revive the Students of Baldesion group as they dig into any info they may have about the Final Days. Madhuri helps hold the fort and eavesdrop for info via working at the Last Stand restaurant.
-The Forum of Sharlayan catches the nosier of the Scions digging into forbidden tomes, gives them a stern warning not to go digging into secrets the city was sworn to protect, or they may be banished. Frustrated, the Scions turn their attentions elsewhere...
-A black tower has appeared in the island of Thavnair. With the help of local alchemists, protective scales have been developed using that of dragons to stop the towers from corrupting the aether of any who go near it, but the leader of the alchemists was captured in the latest test. The residing leader in Radz-at-Han bid the Scions eliminate the tower. With the scales at hand, they do so, discovering the towers have cores, containing strange remains. During their stay in Thavnair, our heroes learn of 'akasa', a type of power that exists involving heightened emotions. But it is weaker than aether, and barely understood.
-With a solution to the corruption at hand, all alliances in Eorzea gather and receive scales. With Thavnair saved, it's time to storm Garlemald, something Madhuri had been looking forward to for nearly her entire life. Opposition is fierce, but nothing they can't handle. In the frozen wastes and their captured Camp Broken Glass, Madhuri goes on hot cocoa and hot meal duty.
-Garlemald is a dumpsterfire. An immense tower has sprouted from the center of it and tempered the people. Few are left. Those few, though resistant to an alliance with the "savages", finally agree to an accord with the Grand Company of Eorzea. Fandaniel and Zenos strike with a corrupting wave from the tower, catching the scale-less Garleans unaware. With their protection at hand and despite an out-of-body experience from the Warrior, the Grand Company bounces back from the attack. It's time to storm the massive tower rising above the ruin, the Tower of Babil.
-The Grand Company open a path for the Warrior to breach the Tower and into parts unknown, dispatching any troops of tempered Garleans.
-The Warrior returns some time later. They'd gone to the moon and defeated Zodiark. Bad news is, He was kind of keeping the Final Days at bay. The good news is that Hydaelyn had created the moon as a sort of "ark" to ferry the people of the star- now known as Etheirys- to a new world if needed. Neat. But with the Final Days upon them, everyone needed to work and fast. The Forum, staunch in their denial of anything wrong happening in the world, surprisingly take this information with gusto, and assist in evacuation preparations.
-Across the globe, the Final Days are upon the people, so many shifting into monstrous "Blasphemies" should they succumb to their anger and fear. But the Warrior and head Scions speak of a possibility, of someone that may be the cause of this emotion-based power known as 'Dynamis' rather than 'akasa'. They will go to the ends of space itself to find this entity. Bidding everyone prepare to head to the moon, the main group sets off for the Ultima Thule nebula, where their true enemy awaits. Madhuri aids in the evacuation preparations, awaiting their return.
-Madhuri's last recollection will be seeing the Scions' ship, the Ragnarok, reappear within the atmosphere.
Updated Personality: With more involvement in the activity among the Scions, Madhuri is all the more determined to see to and solving the problems of others. She's also come to fret a little more, considering what she's seen of the effects of the Final Days on people, especially with a place like Reverein powered by emotions. She'll worry more about her comrades from home, considering the considerable hopelessness she's endured.
She'll be more methodical with her dreamotion, and even perhaps embrace her Beast a little more, because she's seen what happens when people are lost to their anger. She'll hide her inner thoughts and feelings a little less, perhaps out of an innate fear that her knowledge of such things could bring disasters to the poor little fae, tasty tapirs and the other dreamers.
Overall, she comes from her experiences a little more mature, wiser, and less wishy-washy with her powers. She's got to make everything count to make herself just as useful as the people above her who do so much.
Any other updates: Warrior, Dancer, Culinarian and White Mage go from level 80 to 90. Perhaps she gets her White Mage job crystal regained? The way I wanna spin it is that maybe it's formed under her pillow from her desire to mend the ills of her world as well as that of the head Scions, considering their mission is more exceedingly dangerous than it was before. If that's a no-no, that's fine. Figured I'd ask.
Questions/Other: Is the moon still haunted? I'unno.
